Flute Concert for Trans Housing

Join us for a night of music from many genres! All proceeds will go to Bridges4Life, a nonprofit organization dedicated to housing our transgender, gender non-conforming, and nonbinary siblings, with an emphasis on Black Queer and Black Trans life.

Founded by Tahtianna Fermin and based in Hackensack, New Jersey, Bridges4Life is committed to helping the Transgender Non-Conforming Community; by providing services to children in the foster care system, young adults, and surviving sex workers.

Flutist Hunter Green, in collaboration with local NYC musicians and Black Lives Matter community activists, will perform a program of various styles, including baroque, romantic, classical, and jazz. The program features works of Bach, Mozart, Gaubert, Bologne, Prokofiev, and a very unique arrangement!

There is limited seating in the hall, so please reserve your ticket now! The concert is free to all. No donation is required to attend. All tickets are general admission.

If you are able to donate, please consider making a suggested donation of $25. 

The concert will begin at 8:00pm. Please arrive early, so you won't miss out!

The concert will be in Scorca Hall at OPERA America, located on the 7th floor; 330 7th Ave, Manhattan, New York, NY 10001.

All attendees are required to provide proof of one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and matching identification for all guests 12 years or older who seek entry to the National Opera Center, in accordance with New York City’s new executive order regarding vaccination regulations for performance venues. About the Artist

Hunter Green is a professional flutist in New York City. He studied flute performance at the Mannes School of Music, completing his Masters Degree in 2020 under the tutelage of Judith Mendenhall, principal flutist of the American Ballet Theatre. Hunter previously studied at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music under Dr. Tara Helen O'Connor, flutist of the Chamber Society of Lincoln Center, where he received his Bachelor of Music Degree.  Prior, Hunter studied with David DiGiacobbe, principal flutist of the Harrisburg Symphony. He has also worked extensively with pianists Hugh Sung and Paul Ostrovsky.

As an orchestral flutist, Hunter has performed with the Harrisburg Symphony, l'Orchestre de Académie-Festival des Arcs, Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, and South Florida Symphony. He has also performed with the AIMS Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria, working with maestro Marius Stieghorst of the Paris Opera. In 2018, Hunter performed as principal flute under maestro Gerard Schwarz at the Eastern Music Festival.

Hunter has also performed at Orford Musique and Le Domaine Forget festival in Quebec and the Nice Academy in France.

Out of respect for the performers involved, late arrivals will be admitted into the hall during applause between pieces. Photography is only permitted without flash; please muffle any shutter sounds with a softcover case if bringing a DSLR camera. No food is permitted in the hall. Please limit talking to between pieces during applause.
